$125,000 – $145,000 per year
we are seeking a systems engineer to support a major defence capability program within our defence industry practice. this is a full-time position based in canberra and requires employees to work fully on-site due to the security requirements and sensitive nature of the program. the successful candidate will contribute to the design, integration, verification and ongoing support of complex defence systems, working closely with software, hardware, cyber security and project delivery teams to develop technical requirements, maintain system architecture documentation, conduct requirements traceability and support system integration and acceptance testing activities. applicants should have at least 4 years of professional experience in systems engineering, defence engineering or another complex technical environment and hold a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering or a related discipline. experience with systems engineering methodologies, requirements management, verification and validation, technical documentation and tools such as doors or similar requirements management platforms is highly desirable. previous experience working with australian defence programs, defence capability lifecycle processes or highly regulated engineering environments will be strongly regarded. a current australian government nv1 security clearance is required for this position. the role offers a salary of $125,000–$145,000 plus superannuation, with benefits including funded technical certifications, professional engineering development, additional defence-specific training and clear career progression opportunities within complex capability programs.
