We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Software Developer, specialising in front end development, to help drive the continued success of our platform through innovative thinking, clean and scalable code, and a user-centric approach.

About the role

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with a small, agile team to solve real-world problems, enhance our product capabilities, and deliver powerful spatial solutions to our growing customer base. Salary: 50/hr

Responsibilities

Build dynamic, responsive web applications that integrate with various API standards. Work closely with backend developers to connect frontend applications with APIs and databases. Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability. Collaborate with designers and product managers to deliver high-quality user experiences. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Supports and aides others in learning and developing competency in their role. Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.

Requirements

Tertiary degree within the Computer Science or Software Engineering field. Minimum 5 years technical proficiency and experience. Strong experience with React, including hooks, state management, and component architecture. Proficiency in Typescript, Javascript, HTML, and CSS. Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design. Knowledge of modern frontend build tools (Vite, Webpack, etc.). Worked with JavaScript mapping libraries such as OpenLayers, Leaflet, Mapbox, as well as Geospatial and OGC Webservices. Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, React Query, etc.). Experience working in Agile software development processes such as Scrum, Kanban. Proficient in version control using Git and collaborative workflows on GitHub. Ability to write unit and integration tests with tools like Playwright, Jest, Vitest. Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Github Actions, Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins, etc... Highly Desirable: Experience with mapping frameworks such as OpenLayers, Mapbox or Leaflet. Experience with Geospatial web services and OGC web services. Desirable: Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Office. Familiar with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. Familiarity with writing and consuming RESTful OpenAPI specifications. Experience using languages and frameworks such as Node.js, jQuery, PHP, Python, or Ruby on Rails.
