senior cyber security analyst

as a senior cyber security analyst, you will support a large-scale australian government security program within our government industry practice. this is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension and operates under a hybrid working arrangement, requiring three days per week on-site in canberra with the remaining days worked remotely. you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing cyber security risks, investigating security incidents, performing vulnerability assessments, reviewing system security controls, supporting security architecture reviews, and providing technical security advice to project teams and senior stakeholders. the role will involve working with security monitoring and vulnerability management tools, analysing logs and threat intelligence, contributing to incident response activities, preparing security documentation and assisting with compliance against the australian government information security manual and protective security policy framework.

at least 5 years of professional experience in cyber security, information security or a related technical field, strong knowledge of network security, vulnerability management, incident response, siem technologies and security risk assessment, experience working in australian government environments, relevant certifications such as cissp, cism, security+ or equivalent, current australian government nv1 security clearance.

indicative rate of $900–$1,100 per day plus superannuation, depending on experience and technical expertise, access to funded professional certifications and specialised cyber security training.
