policy research officer

as a policy research officer, you will conduct qualitative and quantitative research, review existing government policies and programs, analyse legislation and consultation materials, prepare briefing papers and policy recommendations, and support the development of evidence-based advice for senior stakeholders. you will work with government datasets, conduct literature and regulatory reviews, coordinate stakeholder consultations, and translate complex research findings into concise written reports, ministerial briefs and presentations.

bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, economics, law, social sciences or a related discipline, at least 2 years of relevant experience in policy research, government advisory, program analysis or a comparable professional environment, strong research, analytical and professional writing skills, ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, previous experience working with australian government departments, regulatory frameworks or public-sector programs will be highly regarded, current australian government baseline security clearance.

salary of $88,000–$98,000 plus superannuation, professional development support, access to role-specific training and additional wellbeing initiatives.
