as a java developer at tani corp, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications for government and commercial clients across australia. you will work in an agile environment with software engineers, business analysts, qa engineers, and devops specialists to deliver high-quality software solutions. your responsibilities will include designing and developing java-based applications, building and enhancing restful apis and microservices, and developing backend services using spring boot and related frameworks. you will also write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues, work with relational databases to design and optimize queries, contribute to ci/cd pipelines and deployment automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. the ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, 1–3 years of experience in java development, strong knowledge of java 17+, spring boot, spring mvc, spring data jpa / hibernate, rest apis, and sql, experience with git version control, understanding of object-oriented programming (oop) principles and design patterns, familiarity with agile/scrum development methodologies, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. desirable skills include docker and kubernetes, aws, azure, or google cloud, maven or gradle, jenkins, github actions, or gitlab ci/cd, unit testing with junit and mockito, kafka or rabbitmq, experience with angular or react, and knowledge of microservices architecture.
