graduate data analyst

jw pty ltd is seeking a graduate data analyst to support a major australian government client as part of our government industry practice. this graduate-level position is designed for candidates who are beginning their careers in data and analytics and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days per week working from the canberra office and up to two days working from home. the successful candidate will assist with collecting, cleaning, validating and analysing government datasets, preparing regular reports and dashboards, identifying trends and anomalies, and translating data into clear insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. the role requires foundational knowledge of sql, python and microsoft excel, together with an understanding of data visualisation and basic statistical analysis. experience with power bi, tableau, pandas or similar analytics tools gained through university projects, internships or previous employment will be highly regarded. applicants should hold or be completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, information technology or a related discipline. no previous full-time professional experience is required, although relevant internship, academic or project experience would be advantageous. a current australian government baseline security clearance is required for this position. candidates must also have the appropriate australian working rights and be able to work with sensitive government information in accordance with relevant security and privacy requirements. the position offers a starting salary of $72,000–$78,000 plus superannuation, with benefits including structured graduate training, professional development support, flexible hybrid working arrangements and access to additional study and certification assistance.
