as a communications and engagement officer, you will support a public-sector engagement program for an australian government client. your role will involve developing clear and accessible communications, preparing website and newsletter content, coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, supporting public consultation processes, and assisting with social media and digital communication campaigns. you will work with policy and program teams to translate complex information into content suitable for different audiences, coordinate communication schedules, review engagement feedback, and prepare reports on campaign and consultation outcomes. this role offers a salary equivalent of $85,000–$95,000 plus superannuation on a pro-rata contract basis, as well as flexible remote working and access to employee wellbeing and professional development programs.

at least 2 years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, marketing or a related field, excellent written communication and content development skills, experience in government, community engagement or public-sector communications will be advantageous, familiarity with digital content management systems and communication analytics tools is desirable.
